Foodservice week · demo background
PathCI surface — the hot case over a week, not act-now. Act-now is the LiveOps Foodservice page. This fold is for the presenter.
Talk track.
LiveOps Foodservice is which facing is empty right now. This page is the
week: when people stand at the case, how long they stay, when the
warmers ran empty, and how the shelves sold down.
Claims.
Every number here is measured from Woods Cross, not illustrative.
People counts are zone-9 visits with the area's configured dwell bands:
brief under 4 s, walked away 4–40 s, converted 40 s and over. Walked
away and converted are dwell buckets, not product-pickup verification;
staff stay in the count. "Visited while a facing was empty" says a
facing was empty during the visit. It never says the person wanted that
item or that a sale was lost. Facings were enrolled 2026-08-31, so four
of the seven days have no shelf data and read "—".
Build readiness.
Zone visits and facing observations are shipped primitives. The per-day
band series, the facing week table, and the VLM sell-down line are
derivable — each one is a query against data already stored. Not built:
this page, and observed sales from drops in the smoothed count.
The warmers went empty 14 times in three days.
| Zone | Visits | 4 s+ | Median dwell | Converted 40 s+ |

- Waste. Not on this page. A cleanout shows as a cliff in the sell-down line, and the count before that cliff is what was left. Once the cliff is read cleanly across enough days, what was left comes back as a number.
- Out-of-stock loss. Not on this page. "Visited while a facing was empty" is a count of people, not lost sales. A loss number needs a rule for what a visit during an outage is worth, and there is no such rule yet.
- Walked-away loss. Not on this page. Walked away while the facing was stocked is 372 people this week: the 508 who walked away less the 136 who visited while a facing was empty. It is a different group from out-of-stock loss and from waste. A loss number needs a rule for what a stocked walk-away is worth, and there is no such rule yet.
- Observed sales. Not on this page. Sales read as drops in the smoothed item count, and the count is not yet trusted against a hand count. When the item counts are refined, observed sales against visits comes back here as a chart.
- Dollar figures. Deleted. Count multiplied by a configured average value is an assumption, not a measurement.
- Optimal stock and other recommendations. Parked for ActionFlow. A recommendation needs a rule and a task behind it.
